Dear Parish Family,
As most of you know, when the parish began the three-year campaign to build the new narthex, offices and classrooms, the original plan called for a new and larger hall or assembly area which included a new kitchen, two additional restrooms and more storage space, along with seating for between 200-300 for events. It proved to be cost prohibitive (that component alone was around $1.3 million dollars) Now that we have accomplished all these wonderful things with your generosity, the pastoral council is wondering how and if we should consider moving forward with the final component…
The Parish Life Center. They suggest a brief survey be conducted in the parish to ascertain if the parish family wishes to pursue this final stage or to postpone it for the time being. Today, this component will cost in the range of $2.1-$2.3 million. Part of the equation is the very real possibility that the Archdiocese will launch its own three-year Capital Campaign in 2025. If so, no parish is allowed to conduct its own parish campaign at that time.
The Parish Life Center would be the culmination of the Growing in Faith campaign for St. Mary, Queen of Peace. The completion of this facility would allow countless opportunities and uses to be accessible on one level. Examples include the Christmas Bazaar, Spaghetti dinners, Chili Cook-off, Doughnut Sundays, Oktoberfest, Forever Young lunches, and Funeral dinners. The space would be a multi-use area that would support a variety of events and/or meeting space. It would truly benefit all aspects of our parish. In conclusion, we are conducting a survey. Your participation is vital in obtaining a valid reflection of the interest of our membership in this matter. Please reflect, discuss, and pray on this and then give us your opinion by filling out the survey and return by April 14th.
